Google Street Views are right up Alfred's streets!
The national roll-out of Google's new Street View mapping system has revealed stunning views of the properties where Alfred Williams once lived.
Google cars have been visiting every street in Britain to produce street-level pictures in 360 degrees, and took the shots in South Marston in summer 2009.
All four properties where Alfred lived feature, although Ranikhet is almost completely obscured behind tall trees and hedges. What the views best demonstrate, however, is the closeness of each cottage to each other. Indeed, by starting with a view of Cambria Cottage, Alfred's birthplace, and then panning to the right, viewers can see Dryden Cottage, where most of his works were written.
